Interred published by Horror Tree

I'm pleased to announce that my short story, Interred, has been published by Horror Tree's Trembling With Fear imprint.

Interred is a story about a man who wakes up to discover that he's unable to move or speak, and about to be buried alive.

I am pleased to report that my short story, Incident Zero, has been published in the January 2017 edition of Devolution Z horror magazine.

Incident Zero is a torn from the headlines* story depicting the first zombie encounter, preceding the broader apocalypse, told from the perspective of a harried and preoccupied Miami police officer.

*Or at least it was, when I originally penned this story back in 2013! I had a tough time finding the right venue to publish this story, and I'm incredibly happy that it found a home with Devolution Z -- a perfectly themed market for this particular work.

I'm pleased to announce that my short story, Ride Like the Wind, has been published by Stupefying Stories!


Not only is this one of my most noteworthy publication credits to date, it is also personally gratifying because the publisher of Stupefying Stories is none other than world renowned author [and fellow Minnesotan], Bruce Bethe -- who happens to be one of my favorite authors! 


Thank you to Mr. Bethke for his consideration of my story--very exciting to have my work be part of such a tremendously diverse publication, with such varied and provocative stories.


I've always gotten a little choked up every time I read this piece, but I've never known whether this was attributable to me simply being too close to the material or whether the writing was actually emotionally evocative.

Belated follow up on Lost Luggage

Just a quick note to inform that my short story, Lost Luggage, was published as the feature story of February 2016 by Anotherealm -- a publication that focuses on speculative fiction in the horror, sci fi, and fantasy genres.

Being published by Anotherealm is a prestigious honor, as only one story is selected to be published every month.  I'm quite pleased that this quirky story found a home at such a perfect match of a publication venue.

I don't fly any more. I flew a lot when I was younger and was terrified each time. A white-knuckle passenger, I several times shuddered my way through a flight from Kennedy to Dhahran (13 hours non-stop). New year brings another publication

I'm pleased to report that the year has started off with a bang, as I just got word that my short story, Lost Luggage, has been selected to appear in Anotherealm's 2016 lineup.

Anotherealm is a horror / sci fi / speculative fiction publication that features one short story every month.  My short story will be published next month [February 2016].

Lost Luggage is a story about a woman on-board a trans-Pacific flight with her family who awakens to discover that her son is no longer on the plane.  A genre-bending weird tale, I'm pleased that this quirky story landed with a great publisher like Anotherealm.
